Obituary for Betty V. Davidson (Highlands)

Betty V. Davidson, 94, of Shippensburg departed this life on the morning of Thursday, April 18, 2019, at Green Ridge Village, Newville.

She was born on July 3, 1924, in Shippensburg, a daughter of the late Bryan and Margaret Smith Highlands and married Fred W. Davidson on December 14, 1940. He preceded her in death on August 19, 2005.

Betty was a homemaker and farmers wife during her life. After the family farm was sold, she worked at Goodies Restaurant in Shippensburg. Betty was a member of the Leesburg United Methodist Church and also the Cumberland County Farm Women Group. In her free time, she enjoyed playing BINGO, bowilng, playing cards, and taking bus trips.

She is survived by two daughters, Doris J. Lautsbaugh and husband Garnet of Shippensburg and Tamey K. Skelton of Carlisle; two sons, Gary L. Davidson and wife Wanda of Orrstown and Robert B. Davidson and wife Brenda of Newville; thirteen grandchildren; thirty-one great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by one daughter, Dianna Compton; three sisters, Marjorie Cramer, Evelyn Divelbiss, and Faye Ryder; two brothers, Dale and Dean Highlands; and a son-in-law, Michael Skelton.

Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Pastor Barbara A. Servello will officiate. Interment will follow in the Otterbein Cemetery. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
