Obituary for Dorothy J. Mellott (Gilbert)
Dorothy J. Mellott, 90, of Pleasant Hall formerly of Shippensburg, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at home.
She was born June 15, 1928 in Chambersburg, PA. Dorothy was a daughter of the late Charles E. and Lulu I. Dixon Gilbert.
She was a member of the Shippensburg First Church of God. Dorothy retired from the former Valley Baking Company, Shippensburg.
She is survived one daughter, Genevieve L. (Dana) Ehrhart, Pleasant Hall, three grandchildren, Crystal Karper, Elyse Ehrhart and Shirelle Milligan, three great-grandchildren, Breanna, Brittany and Bethany Rife and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis J. Mellott, two sisters, Julia Stevens and Betty Jane Warner and three brothers, James, Dick and Fred Gilbert.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 13, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Shippensburg. Officiating will be Pastor Jim Rogers. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be held Monday one hour prior to the services in the funeral home.
