Obituary for Mary C. Minor (Naugle)

Mary C. Minor, 94, of Walnut Bottom, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at Green Ridge Village, Newville.

Born Tuesday, May 5, 1925 in Walnut Bottom, the youngest of twelve, to the late Levi L. and Valeria R. Pechart Naugle.

Mary was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Walnut Bottom, where she taught Sunday School Class. She retired from McCoy Electronics, after 23 years of service. Mary was a Girl Scout Leader, she loved to read, loved music, and loved her friends, family, and animals.

She had a wonderful wit and sense of humor, she loved life and had an acceptance and tolerance for people from all walks of life.

Mary had a deep love for her children, and was sole care-giver to her daughters for many years. Her courage and endurance in the face of loss was an inspiration to all who knew her.

She is the last of her immediate family, and leaves behind only nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Scott Orville Minor, Sr., in 1980; one son, Scott Orville Minor, Jr., in September 2000; two daughters, Wendy Christine Minor, in February 2000, and Tracy Ellen Minor, in December 1995; and six brothers; and five sisters.

A Celebration of Mary’s life will be held, Monday, October 7, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in the Trinity United Methodist Church, with Pastor Robert Stump officiating. Burial will be in Jacksonville Cemetery. Family will receive friends following the interment, in the fellowship hall of the church.
