Obituary for Edwin D. Hepfer

Edwin D. Hepfer, 83, of Pleasant Hall, departed this life on the afternoon of Wednesday, November 27, 2019, at his home.

He was born on December 28, 1935, in Ft. McCord, Franklin County, Pennsylvania, the son of the late David B and Arlene L. Hammond Hepfer.

Edwin worked for many years and retired from PennDOT, District 8, out of Chambersburg. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, pig roasts at the family cabin in Lower Horse Valley, and was a faithful BINGO player at the Pleasant Hall Volunteer Fire Company. Edwin loved spending time caring for his two little dogs, Bell and Curley, who he took pretty much everywhere and looked after faithfully.

He is survived by a sister, Mary Ann Hutchinson; brother-in-law, Alfred L. Hutchinson; and his niece Crystal Ann Hutchinson, all of Pleasant Hall. In addition to his parents, Edwin was preceded in death by an infant sister, JoAnne Hepfer.

His funeral services, entrusted to the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg, will be private. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hall Cemetery. There will be no public viewing or visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Hall Volunteer Fire Company, because they were always willing to help Edwin when he needed them.
