Sometimes you meet someone, and you know right away, that you just have to be a part of their life. That is how I felt when I met Jack. Jack had a kind heart, and I am so happy to have known him. My only regret is that I didn't meet him sooner and know him just a little longer. May peace be with his family during this difficult time.

I was in Jack's first class of 5th graders at Coldbrook in 1958 and how lucky I was. There were about 36 kids in our class and we had the best time with this young, fresh out of college, male teacher. He had seen the world and he could translate his experiences in words we could understand. Something tells me he may have been in Korea, though after about 60 years I'm not sure. He was so special and loved by all! What a truly wonderful teacher!

Jack and I taught at Coldbrook School in the fifties. He and I and Wilma Markey ate lunch together every day at the Kustard Kitchen. During that time we became very good friends and he and Dolores and their son visited me when I moved to a farm in Schuykill Co. He was a big part of my happy memories of those early years of teaching.

Jack Goodhart was a great human being and he will be truely missed by those he came in touch with. I remember Uncle Jack from our trips up to Shiippensburg from Virginia where my father happened to be stationed at Fort Lee. Uncle Jack could do it all from tossing a baseball around or throwing a football with me my cousin Greg or brother Marty, to fixing our car when it needed it, to canning tomatoes for his homemade ketchup, and to top all that off he was a schoolteacher too. You\d better be on your Ps and Qs around Uncle Jack. You couldn't pull the wool over his eyes 'cause He knew a little bit about everything.

One story about Uncle Jack from his earlier years that my Dad used to tell was about the High Schol football team. He said when the coach blew the whistle for everyone to line up for sprints after practice they were all amazed at the speed of one guy, Jack Goodhart, who played guard and tackle, he was the fastest guy on the team according to my dad. He had an athletic build and I could tell he was a good athelete just by how he moved and walked. He was always someone you could talk to and that was what i appreciated most about him - his caring heart! May he Rest IN Peace. The Lord called a great guy home today. Bless you Uncle Jack.
