Obituary for Richard L. Hurley
Richard L. Hurley, 79, of Chambersburg, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 in the Chambersburg Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Wednesday, January 10, 1940 in Doylesburg, Franklin County, PA. Richard was a son of the late Dudley Hurley and Mary Harris Foore.
Richard worked for 34 years at DeRose Industries, Chambersburg. He was a Charter Member of the Greenvillage Church of God. Richard was a 1958 graduate of Fannett Metal High School and was a member of the Mason-Dixon Knife Club.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Sarah Nicole Hurley, who passed away April 26, 2009.
He is survived by his wife, Grace E. Hockenberry Hurley, two children, Richard T. Hurley and his wife Tammy A. and DeEnda D. Hockenberry and her husband Jim A., all of Chambersburg, five grandchildren, Dustin T., Shawn A. and Aaron C. Hurley, Sheena D. Snyder and Shane A. Hockenberry, and twelve great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 22, 2019 at 11 a.m. in the Greenvillage Church of God, Chambersburg. Officiating will be The Rev. Matthew Tosten. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held two hours prior to the services Monday morning.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Greenvillage Church of God, 5164 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17202.
